The Baltimore Ravens are a team based in Baltimore, Maryland. The Ravens compete in the NFL as a member of the North Division of the American Conference. The team plays its home games at M&T Bank Stadium and is based in Owings Mills.

The Ravens were established in 1996, when Art Modell, who was the owner of the Cleveland Browns, announced plans to move the franchise from Cleveland to Baltimore. As part of an agreement between the NFL and the city of Cleveland, Modell had to leave the Browns ' history and records in Cleveland with a replacement team that would take control starting in 1999. In return, he was allowed to take his own staff and equipment to Baltimore, where said staff would form an expansion team.

The Ravens have qualified for the NFL playoffs twelve times since 2000, with two victories in the Super Bowl (Super Bowl XXXV and Super Bowl XLVII), two titles for the AFC Championship (2000 and 2012), 15 wins in the playoffs, four appearances in the Championship game of the AFC (2000, 2008, 2011 and 2012), six titles of the division North of the AFC (2003, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2018 and 2019).

The Ravens organization has been led by general Manager Ozzie Newsome from 1996 until he eventually retired for the 2018 season, and has had three head coaches: Ted Marchibroda, Brian Billick, and John Harbaugh. With a record defensive unit in their 2000 season, the team established a reputation for relying on strong defensive play. It was led by players such as halfback Ray Lewis, who, until his retirement, was considered the "face of the franchise". The team is owned by Steve Bisciotti and is valued at $2.5 billion, making the Ravens the 27th most valuable sports franchise in the world.
